Jennifer (Jen) Teague has over 15 years of experience in aging services and executive leadership roles. Jen has extensive knowledge of aging services, having served as the Program Manager for the Buncombe County Adult and Aging Services Department, as the Executive Director for the Council on Aging of Buncombe County, and prior to that, working for the North Carolina Division of Aging and Adult Services.
Jen brings a wealth of experience in Adult Protective Services (APS), having managed one of the largest adult protective services units in North Carolina. She is knowledgeable about MAC billing and oversaw significant increases in MAC billing while in Buncombe. In addition, Jen has a deep knowledge of the Older Americans Act funding (OAA), also known as Home and Community Care Block Grant (HCCBG) funding, which supports older adults’ ability to remain at home. Having served in executive and manager roles, Jen has years of experience supporting staff, building on their strengths, and helping them find and develop their own leadership skills. Jen earned her Master of Arts in Community Counseling and Bachelor of Science in Sociology at Appalachian State University, in Boone, N.C. Currently, Jen is the Director of health Coverage and Benefits for the National Council on Aging
