Sabrina Clark, LAPSW, CSWM, is a seasoned child welfare leader with over 20 years of experience working directly with – and on behalf of – children and families. A proud alumna of North Carolina Central University and the University of Michigan, Sabrina has dedicated much of the last decade to advancing child welfare practice and policy with the Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services. There, she most recently served as the inaugural supervisor of the Policy & Practice Model Team, playing a pivotal role in the agency’s reform initiatives. Her expertise extends nationally through her work with ICF, where she provides strategic consultation to jurisdictions across the country on behalf of the Children’s Bureau/Capacity Building Center for the States—focused on workforce recruitment and retention, and the Family First Prevention Services Act (FFPSA) community pathways.
Since 2020, Sabrina has served as an Expert Trainer with the Center for Child and Family Health in Durham, NC, leading the statewide Resource Parent Curriculum (RPC) implementation. She also contributes nationally as a subject matter expert with the National Center for Child Traumatic Stress/National Child Traumatic Stress Network, supporting the current revision of RPC.
Sabrina is also an adjunct professor at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte School of Social Work, where she teaches both undergraduate and graduate students. With more than a decade of experience developing and delivering training and presentations at local, state, and national levels, she brings a unique blend of academic rigor and frontline insight. She approaches every role as a teacher and learner – grounded in trauma-informed principles – and welcomes every opportunity to channel her passion, purpose, and experience to support individuals and organizations striving to make a meaningful impact.
