Daryl B. Conley brings over 30 years of leadership experience in progressively responsible roles in law enforcement and public safety. He exemplifies leadership practices that build trust and psychological safety and develop high-performing teams—all critical for first responders. He developed and implemented trainings and coaching to prepare his direct reports and others for leadership succession. He continues to coach and inspire leaders across all disciplines, including human services and child welfare. Additionally, Mr. Conley leveraged data for systems improvement, addressing trends, and developing plans for systemic change.
During his tenure, Mr. Conley led law enforcement teams across NC during disasters and preparedness situations. He participated in Boards and Commissions that further public safety, including NCHP’s strategic state-wide planning team, the Governor’s inauguration planning team, and many others. Mr. Conley is a member of the NC Sheriff’s Association, IACP – NC Chapter, and a member of the FBI NAA. Mr. Conley earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Winston-Salem State University and is pursuing a Master of Criminal Justice from East Carolina University. He also completed the Administrative Officers Management Program and FBI National Academy, which have equipped him with the knowledge and expertise necessary to lead, coach, and train teams effectively.
